Howelling Coffee

At Howelling Coffee, we have a brew schedule that rotates so that we have at least one or two coffees brewed that maybe we didn't the last time you were in.  We also know how important it is to have our daily coffees hot and ready for you when you visit each day.  This means when you come into our coffee house, you are able to select a coffee that either fits your day or your coffee palate at that time.  There will always be a nice selection, that is our committment to our guests and fellow enthusiasts. 

Our Daily Brews:

• Michael's Joe- Titled after the founder of Howelling Coffee, this is our House Blend.  It is a medium-dark roast that will satisfy the sophisticated afficianado and the casual coffee drinker at the same time.  Cream and/or sugar or BLACK, this coffee is splendid.  This coffee is also available in DECAF all day.

• Painted Black-An Italian Roasted blend that is great with cream and/or sugar, but is blended and roasted with the intention of creating a special coffee for those that take it jet black.  A full body with a very smooth entrance.  It has a wonderful afterglow, the retro nasal effect is so enjoyable you can't get the cup back to your lips fast enough.

• Flavors-Yes, we brew flavors.  A very important piece of the puzzle for any good coffee house.  We take our flavors as seriously as we take everything else we serve.  For this reason, we hold our flavors to the same quality standards that we hold our other brews.  Many flavored coffee selections are sub-standard beans dark roasted and then flavored to mask the poor quality of the coffee.  Not at Howelling Coffee.  One fine example is "Winter Wonderland" that has notes of Hazelnut, Carmel and Coconut.  Combined, they tickle the tongue and thrill the nasal passages.  We brew at least one flavor per day, with a great rotation, so check it out when you stop in.

• Your Coffee is not in the brew schedule today??  We will make you a french press version of anything you like that we do not have hot and ready for you.  It's simple and its just for YOU.  French Press is a unique experience, we can't wait for you to try it.

• Our Brew Schedule and "HOT AND FRESH" Committment- At Howelling Coffee, we serve NO Coffee past its time, nor below a piping temperature.  We time all of our Coffee every day, and rotate the selections when their time comes.  Timed control is standard for most coffee houses, but we also test our temperatures throughout the day on a regular basis.  Our Barista or other staff members can tell you what the temperature of the coffee is at any time.  Our thermometers are calibrated every day, so an accurate reading is guaranteed.  If the coffee is below 155 degrees, it is disposed and re-brewed.  The internal measure of the carafe will affect the temperature decline.  A half full pot will cool much quicker than a full one.  This is why we committ to both time AND temperature. 

Our Single Origins and other brews:

• Sumatra- Dark roasted beauty.  Great body with a nice, smooth finish.  Full flavor with a great afterglow.
• Kona Blend- This light-medium roast will call your taste buds to attention with authority.  Our Kona Blend has a lovely toasty snap on the entrance, with a light body and a very smooth finish.  Treasured by many, this coffee sells by the pound all day long (ground to your specification, or whole bean).  We brew our Kona Blend Monday through Friday, with some weekends mixed in from time to time.
• Costa Rican-  Our Costa Rican invites the Red Wine lover to savor it's pronounced snap on the front end with a smooth finish.  It is brewed from time to time or is available by the pound anytime.
• Many other brews and single origins are offered on a schedule that fits the season, as well as demand.  100% Kona and 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain are available for our whole bean customers with just one business day's notice.  We proudly brew single origin Jamaican Blue Mountain from time to time, so stop in or call just in case....today could be the day.

Signature Drinks and Lattes:

• We carry a large selection of Gourmet sauces and syrups for your latte and steamer enjoyment.  Our professionaly trained Baristas take their craft very seriously.  We take pride in our concoctions, both practiced and requested.  If there is a drink you have made yourself or enjoyed somewhere else, the chances are that we can duplicate it. 
• Undecided?  Tell us what your favorite candy bar is!  It is very likely that the Barista can give you a balanced liquid elixir that tastes like you are biting into your daily favorite or occasional candy.  Challange us!  The best part is that if our attempts are not successful, we will make it right by offering something off of our standard menu (which is quite extensive). 

Cold Coffee:

• Want to COOL OFF with a frozen or iced version of your favorite latte?  We can do that!  We offer a remarkable selection of frozen and iced drinks, including fruit smoothies and coffee free versions.

Whole Bean or Ground bulk coffee:

• Want to experience Howelling Coffee at home or work?  We sell all of our coffee either whole bean or ground.  Our bulk coffee is sold out of OUR OWN SUPPLY so that it is just as fresh as our brewed coffee every day.  We do not pre-bag or stock our bulk coffee, therefore your coffee is just as fresh when you brew it at home or work as it is in our store. 
• If you are looking to purchase coffee, we can ship it to you!  Just call the store or email us with a name and phone number.  We will be happy to arrange a shipment anywhere in the world.
